PREMIUM CIGARS SPICE UP HALLOWEEN FOR ADULTS
Columbus, GA October, 2008 - Halloween is almost upon us and it’s time for all things black, sweet and spicy. Even cigars. The International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association suggests that an appropriate premium cigar to help celebrate the long holiday weekend might be a Maduro.
According to Jorge Armenteros, president of Tobacconist University, the official curriculum resource of IPCPR, the deep, rich taste of any good, premium Maduro cigar might be the perfect way to treat yourself or your friends.
“Maduro cigars typically have black wrappers. They have endured a longer fermentation time to enrich and sweeten the wrapper. The longer fermentation breaks down the natural sugars in the leaf, darkens it, and creates a subtle sweetness that is perfect for trick or treating or celebrating with costumed friends at a neighborhood party,” said Armenteros. “The result is a premium cigar that is a combination of subtle sweetness on the one hand and boldness on the other,” he added.
If a Maduro is too strong for your taste, Armenteros recommended consulting with local tobacconists who can offer a range of premium cigar products for any taste.
“If your tobacconist is a member of IPCPR, he or she is a true professional dedicated to serve your needs, especially if he or she is also accredited by Tobacconist University,” he said. “For example, if you are planning a long night out, your tobacconist might recommend a Churchill. At a seven inch length, it should last throughout any evening’s stroll. Besides, outdoor activities are perfect for enjoying the delicate aroma of a premium cigar, and a Churchill will do nicely,” he noted.
Another cigar for consideration might be a torpedo, so named because of its unique shape. Armenteros pointed out that many torpedos are available with mild Connecticut shade wrappers.
“Other premium cigars of various sizes, shades and strengths are also available from scores of top name brand manufacturers. Your local IPCPR tobacconist can explain the differences between them and help with your selection process. And while you are at it, why not consider taking along a few extra ‘sticks’ to pass out to neighborhood friends? They are sure to enjoy these premium ‘treats’,” he said.
